Hey girls,

how are you?

All of you finished for this week?

Common, everybody is complaining about not being able to use English and now?

Nobody in here?

Adelaide

Hi girls,

I'm back. I had a tough time, the conference I'm organizing is a pain. I have 350 participants now and there is still the possibility to register on site. Last week I had the deadline with the publishers for the proceedings and for them I had to equalize 150 abstracts. What are Instructions for Abstracts for? For nothing!

But now, this part is finished. Boss went on holiday for two weeks this morning. Now I can do the next things a bit relaxed (badges, signs and program posters). A press conference and the conference itself, it will be done end of September. :?

In private I'm looking forward to an extended weekend next week, depending on the weather - Austria or Berlin or Stuttgart, let's see.

The big holidays are in October, without any plan yet.

Today I will leave at 2 p.m. and go shopping and have dinner in the city. The rain clouds have to go!

@ Gute Seele, please tell us something about your honeymoon. How is Vietnam? Did you like Singapore?
And please don't forget the Marillenknödel recipe, in German please.

Have a nice day,

Adelaide

Hi Adelaide,
hi Girls!

You wanna know about my honeymoon? - it was just perfect!
Vietnam is such a beautiful country and we fell in love with Singapore the day we arrived.
I'll write an extensive report - but back at home, my boss gave me some rather challenging tasks and they are time consuming!

Marillenknödel recipe - I'll have to take a look at the notes of my other grandmother, because recipe I am looking for is still at my granny's house.

Have a nice weekend so far, see you later!

Sounds like you had a wonderful time during your honeymoon. If there's one vacation that you'll never forget for the rest of your life, it's surely your honeymoon.

I wish for you and your husband that the path that lies ahead of you is just as wonderful and exciting for both of you.

I can so well relate to your feeling of culture clash upon your return to Europe. I regularly spend my vacations in the US, where people are much more friendly and open to each other and every time I return I'm disappointed about the general grumpy attitude you find here in Central Europe.

And yeaaaaaaaaah, I am definitely looking forward to your recipe for apricot dumplings - I have never made them myself, I usually mooch at my Mom's. It is one of my favorite childhood memory dishes - some kind of "soul food".

A nice weekend to all of you!

Good morning everybody,

How are you today? New day, new luck!

I had a nice weekend, with lots of home and garden work. Friday evening was fine, with a new pair of winter shoes and good Italian food (not too much). Saturday evening we had a Sparkling Shiraz, this is really good but unfortunately not so often to find outside of the origin (South Australia).

Gute Seele, I found your recipe. Yummy. I will try it as soon as possible.

Please tell my more about your stay in Singapore. Which bar (this rotating bar near the harbour?), which hotel (Raffles?), what else have you seen?

I can feel the culture clash. Each time I come back I feel the same, it doesn't matter so much whether the origin is Asia, Pacific or US.

Have a nice day,

Adelaide

Elo, Good morning at 1 pm? Yesterday somebody called me on the phone and said Good afternoon at 9 in the morning. She is in Sydney.

Freetime to stroll in the forum, yes.

How big should the shelve be? It sounds like a full wall shelve?

Uschi, don't worry about good, this is to practise. We are all beginners and without doing it's not going to be better.

I will try not to eat too much.

A nice weekend to all and see you again on Monday,

Adelaide

Well, here is my report:

We started from Graz very early in the morning. We had to get up ad 3:00 a.m.! First stop was Frankfurt where we had to wait for over 5 hours. Next stops Singapore - Hanoi.
We went by train (the Victoria SaPa Express) to Lao Chai/SaPa - we left Hanoi at about 9.pm and awoke the next morning at 6:30 a.m.
In SaPa we had a lovely hotel, very splendid and wonderful service. Made a few trips to the minority villages.
The landscape is so wonderful and the green of the growing rice plants is so lush and full of life. Incredible!
After 3 days we went back to Hanoi by train - this time during the day so we could watch the change of the landscape while we were travelling down south. The railroad is next to the river - a lovely sight.
By Plane we went South to Nha Trang - and moved into a luxurious resort for 9 nights. Ana Mandara - remember the name, I can only recommend it to everybody.
From Nha Trang we went by plane to Saigon - but unfortunately it was raining cats and dogs so we couldn't see anything the city has to offer.
Next morning by plane to Singapore - a wonderful city/country.

We were lucky and I met a member of the forum there - such a kind and nice person! My husband said we have to meet more ladies from the forum here, for he found the evening very entertaining and charming *g* She showed us a marvellous bar and the view was breathtaking. We spent the next to days exploring the city and on our third day we went back home at 23:50.

The arrival in Frankfurt was VERY unpleasant - the gate was a constructions site and everybody was very unfriendly and not helpful at all. I better spare you the details - it was a real clash of cultures:
Asia: Kind, friendly people, eager to please and help. Europe: Unfriendly, rude, snarrling and hissing.

We will definitely go back to Singapore - this city has so much so see (and I am not talking about shopping!).

Good morning,

I really wonder that nobody write english even though a lot of the user complain that they have no chance to speak or write english. Here is the chance but no one use it

Good for you that your boss is on vacation for a while so you will have some more freetime at work

Today is my second day of vacation and I really enjoy to sleep as long as I wanna
Next week I will go shopping and I´ll try to get some furniture for my apparment. I want to rearrange my livingroom. I´m desperatly looking for a big big book shelve. I couldn´t found one which I really like and which is as big as I need. I hope I will find one next week but I´m afraid I won´t...

Nice greetings
Elodia

Hallo all together!

I start to work at 12 o´glock every day, therefore I can´t write earlier.

My weekend was not so nice. On Saturday my son had a football match and his team lost 12:1. He was very unhappy. The weather was also bad, it was raining cats and dogs and I must stay at the house. The kids got me nerves...

About ten years ago I was also in Singapour. It was fantastic! On my 40th birthday I want to fly there with a girlfriend (if my husband will give me the flight ) .

I wish you a nice week.

Uschi
