@ Gute Seele, that's brilliant ! I'll have to bear that in mind (although I'm getting a bit old for having babies :wink

@ Vronie: I do like living in the UK. It's so different from Germany. People are much more polite, less rude, less stressed (at least where we are). What I don't like is this "my home is my castle" mentality: they have to put up 6 foot high fences around their back gardens so when we're sitting on our patio, all we see are these high fences. No chance of a friendly chat with the neighbours whilst working in the garden.

Oh dear, Cin. Sounds like you've either overdone it and your body tells you to stop. Or perhaps your sugar levels are a bit low? That can happen when you're busy and forgetting about meals. In that case, try having a drink (glass of water plus a cup of coffee) and a snack. Sit back, relax and take a few deep breaths.

Gute_Seele your boss seams to have a good sense of humor

bramble, I love Britain. Once a year I have to fly to London. Two years ago a friend and I made a one-week trip from London to Stratford, Chester, Lake District, York, Nottingham back to London. We enjoyed it so much. I would like to do something like that again but my husband prefers the south of Europe.

Good improvement to you, Cin!
I have made the experience that you are able to stop a beginning cold if you take Aspirin quickly.

Many people don't feel well at the end of winter. Maybe the vitamin reservse in our bodys are used up. We need sun and fresh vegetables, fruits.

I hope this day will pass quickly for you and you are able to relax after work.

@ CM: We've taken the kids to London last year. It was the first time for our youngest to see the capital, and we made sure we showed them all the important bits. Sometimes it's nice to be a tourist . Chester, the Lake District, Nottingham and York are all very very nice places. If you have time, you must see Scotland or the West Country (Devon, Dorset, Cornwall)!

I giggeled as a red your lines, Bramble!
But don't forget that in Germany you can find this "castle mentality" in some regions also. We also live in a house without any fences, but the whole neighbourhood process them. But maybe these fences aren't as high as in U.K.

I have heard about the polite behaviour of the Britians. You would be more noticeable in U.K. when you are inpolite than here in Germany.
How is the weather? Does it really rain very often?

Please correct my English if it isn't o.k.! It's a good training for me then.
Thanks!

I´ve been to Cornwall already. I loved it! But the narrow streets made it an adventure trip sometimes (we used to travel with a Mercedes E Kombi).

Scotland ist the next part of Britain on my list and I also want to go to Ireland. During my stay at Chester (language school) we made a one-day-trip to Wales. We had wonderful weather and I liked the Welsh accent which sounds a bit like the Frankonian because of the way they pronounce the "R".

Which part of UK do you live in?

Congrats to finding your desk, bramble
Mine miraculously vanished again during the day. Could be because I'm re-sorting the complete folder structure of my boss like I told before, and it only gets more and more. Typical.

Well, I'm nearly done with my day. Half an hour and I'm gone.
